A LOOK AT THE CENSUS
Another Decade and another census bring
new opportunities to genealogy researchers. Unfortunately, with new
opportunities there are new obstacles. Some persons are not found in the
indexes. This website was created to help you locate names by location
rather than by name. With an address you can easily find the correct
enumeration district.
The Chicago Ordinance Ward Boundary Descriptions are not
as inclusive as those that I have defined for some of the Chicago Wards, due
in part, to the date of the Ordinance and the date of the actual
1930 Census.
I have provided both versions of the Ward Boundary Descriptions for your comparison.
In most cases, however, the variations are slight.
Please note that some of the enumeration districts boundaries differ from other
descriptions listed on the Internet. The boundary descriptions on this
site are based on the actual census.
The Chicago City Ward Map and the individual Maps for each Ward, unfortunately
